Save Money and Time with OMT

OMT offers you the ability to manage your medical dictation and transcription electronically through a 100% HIPAA compliant web-based system.  There are no setup fees and your only initial expense would be for digital recorders, assuming you choose this option instead of the phone-in system.  OMT and our application service provider (ASP) handle all your dictation and transcription from cradle-to-grave.  As appropriate, your clinicians and staff can manage, review/edit, and electronically sign reports from the office, home, or any other location with internet access.  Each user is assigned their own secure log-in to your clinic’s personalized system.  Once reports are signed by the clinician, they are automatically routed to a folder for final print.  All reports on your system are accessible by you and your staff for the life of your account.  If your clinic currently uses tapes or a phone-in system you are probably receiving reports back from your transcription service via hand delivery, FTP, or email.  Thus, you retain only paper copies of your reports or have to manage, store, and back up files yourself on a hard drive or disk.  This does not allow for easy searchability and there is the possibility for files to be lost or corrupted.  With OMT, clinicians and office staff are able to search their personalized system for specific patients, report types, dates, etc.  If you are currently sending dictations and/or receiving transcriptions electronically, the email/FTP servers utilized may not use encryption sufficient to meet HIPAA standards.  All servers utilized by OMT’s ASP meet or exceed HIPAA requirements and offer you 24/7 access to your personal system.  To support this, the ASP servers are maintained and backed up to ensure 99.7% to 100% uptime, which also allows for uninterrupted turnaround time (TAT).

OMT offers all the above to you as well as the opportunity to save money and time.  How do we do that?  For one, we offer you options for using templates to reduce your transcription costs.  These consist of “fixed” characters for which you are not charged.  Also, by using “normals,” you reduce time spent dictating, allowing room on your schedule to see more patients (time equals money).  For a more detailed explanation of how you will save money and time with OMT, please see our sample report analysis.

Reduce Turnaround Time

With OMT, you can reduce your turnaround time (TAT) significantly.  The TAT will begin precisely at the time your dictations are received by our secure servers.  Therefore, if you upload your dictations periodically throughout the day, you will receive your transcriptions back within 24 hours of each upload (or whatever TAT you require).  If you currently dictate using tapes and are on a 24-hour TAT, you will likely not receive transcriptions back for your earliest appointments until 48 hours later.
